Adult workshops run from 10am - 1pm. We kick off with tea/ coffee and some homemade baking while you watch a demonstration of all the dishes, though there is plenty of opportunity to get hands-on for those that want to. Finally, you can enjoy tasting all the dishes over a relaxed lunch and a glass of wine.

All courses cost £30 to include morning tea/ coffee and biscuits, lunch and a glass of wine, and the take-home recipe booklet.

I will be running some more courses in the new year. Alternatively, if you would like to get together a group of friends (minimum of 4), I will happily consider running a course of your choice from the list at a time to suit  you.

Adult sessions can be easily tailored for a fabulous corporate away-day or hen-party with a difference: dividing you into teams, you will have your own cooking challenge as you work together to prepare your own lunch comprising canapes, main course, dessert and petits fours. Prices depend on length of the session and the menu. Please call to discuss.

I also offer one-to-one tuition for those that would like a more hands-on cooking experience or would like to focus on a particular area. Lessons cost £40 per hour to include all the ingredients, lunch, some "take-away" food that you have made and of course a recipe booklet so you can recreate the dishes at home. Lessons make a fantastic gift and I can give you a gift voucher to give to someone as a present.

Here are some comments from previous courses:

"I made the sticky pear pudding and put some pictures up on my profile! Doesn't look as good as yours, but still tasted yummy! Thanks for a very enjoyable session! "

"I have LOVED reproducing the recipes at home. I think the only one I haven't tried yet (but really want to) is the risotto cake. Everything else has worked great!"

"We had such fun making everything - can't wait to try a few of the recipes out at home, it was all so delicious!"

"I've since made the Tabouleh and the mushroom tartlets again and both were absolutely delicious!”

"Thanks for a very enjoyable and informative evening. I came home feeling really inspired to do some baking again. It was lovely to see what everyone else did too - what a talented bunch!"

“Thank you so much for today. Really enjoyed it and loved eating all those cakes!”

Adult classes at The Kids’ Kitchen

Beautiful Baking

A real treat for those with a sweet tooth or those who just want to get to grips with some foolproof cake recipes. We will be baking a gorgeous carrot cake, luscious lemon slice, double chocolate brownies, apple tart and chocolate banana cookies.

More Beautiful Baking

Another morning full of wonderful baking smells and lots of tasting! We will be baking a moist mocha and hazelnut cake, lemon drizzle cake, squidgy chocolate brownie cake, plum flapjacks and peanut butter biscuits.

The Art of the Tart

A gentle introduction to all kinds of pastry - shortcrust, puff, filo - used to create some mouthwatering dishes and convince you it's not difficult! We will be cooking roasted squash and caramelised red onion tart, mushroom and gruyere bread tartlets, tomato and puff pastry tarts, spinach and feta triangles and apple and amaretti tart. There will be lots to cook and lots to taste!

Easy entertaining

Some delicious and unusual ideas for when you need to rustle something up that looks impressive, tastes fabulous but (whisper!) was actually really easy to prepare: pea and mint soup, sesame dip, cheese strudel and salmon with a sundried tomato and artichoke topping with accompanying green bean salad, followed by some very yummy hot chocolate puddings and a fabulous meringue roulade.

Make ahead meals

Some great recipes that are quick to make and can be prepared in advance. From tomato and lentil soup with cheese scones, to salmon fishcakes and fritatta with roast tomatoes, followed by chocolate mousse and plum and apple crumble, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy!

Something for the weekend?

We will cook some fantastic weekend staples that are tasty enough to serve to guests if you are entertaining or just to provide a quick meal when you don't really fancy slaving over the stove. From a teatime treat of apple crumble cake, to a warming bowl of Thai sweet potato soup with homemade seeded bread, or a quick and easy lemon and basil pasta and roasted squash and barley salad, there will be something for all occasions.
